The first Chinese incentive group with thirty-four overseas Chinese travellers from Access Corporate Group was welcomed to Fiji by Tourism Fiji executives Brent Hill (CEO) and Robert Thompson (Executive Head of Regions) along with staying hotel Ramada Fiji's executive and staff for a four-day trip taking in Nadi and the Mamanuca Islands, organized by China Travel Service New Zealand Limited (CTSNZ).

Access Corporate Group was founded in 2017, which is an innovative and comprehensive brand management company, with a global business ecosystem that ensures the end-to-end connection between brands and consumers. Access brings international premium brands from Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Asia to over 10 million consumers, making their everyday life better. The current Keep Dreaming incentive event gathers top distributors composed of expatriate Chinese from Australia and New Zealand to Fiji, celebrating the 5th Anniversary of the company.

"Tourism Fiji has been extremely helpful in the formalization of the pitch to this group. The natural beauty and unlimited relaxation in Fiji are exactly what this incentive group truly desires. I'm confident that Fiji will certainly leave a great impression on the group. We really look forward to working closely with Tourism Fiji to overcome all the challenges introduced by Covid-19 as well as continue to restore and increase overseas Chinese-speaking travellers' confidence in travelling to Fiji," said Lisa Li, Managing Director of CTSNZ.

As the selected accommodation partner to host this group by CTSNZ and Access Corporate Group, General Manager of Ramada Suites by Wyndham Wailoaloa Beach Fiji, Rohit Lal said, "We're honoured to have finalized this first-ever major overseas Chinese group's booking. Our staff has been well prepared to impress these guests and leave them with unforgettable memories. The global Chinese market is indispensable to the property of Ramada Fiji and even the nation as a whole. This would not have been possible without Tourism Fiji China and global Chinese market partners trusting the brand Ramada Fiji to honour this group."

Tourism Fiji has identified a brand new global Chinese market as Fiji's key source market since Fiji's international borders reopened, in accordance with the potential of 10.7 million Chinese overseas and 60 million, if their descendants are included – according to the International Organization for Migration. The interest and response to a holiday to Fiji has been extremely strong from the expatriate Chinese communities and Chinese speaking travellers such as Chinese communities, Chinese international students, wealthy Chinese speaking travellers and Chinese retirees in Fiji's key source markets across the globe, although China's borders are not reopened yet.

Commenting on the global Chinese market, Tourism Fiji CEO, Brent Hill stated, "We're committed to leveraging our strengths to increase our presence in the global Chinese market. This market is important to us and expected to expand as a growing proportion of countries and regions have already reopened their borders across the globe. We're thrilled to get great feedback from industry partners and the performance we have seen seeing are magnificent. We believe it can make the most of potential opportunities to extend Fiji's tourism seasons and hotel occupancy beyond our traditional source markets and peak periods."

According to incomplete statistics, the overseas Chinese communities, and overseas Chinese-speaking travellers in Fiji's key source markets across the globe have generated over 5,099 visitor arrivals along with over FJD 9 million in sales revenues and 6,753+ room nights for the last three months, and the growth remains strong in the next couple months.

Tourism Fiji Regional Director of the Global Chinese Market, Vincent Zheng said, "We are very grateful for the support our trading partners and industry partners have given us. Without their support, we couldn't have such a strong performance in a brand new global Chinese market. For the last three months, we've done tremendous webinar training sessions along with 67 Fijian industry partners to over 160 global Chinese travel agents d in Fiji's key source markets across the globe.”

"With seeing this big incentive group come to Fiji and a few more to come apart from a strong performance from the FIT side, we're confident that we can bring more success together with our Fijian industry partners through continuing to work with trade and media partners closely to enhance Fiji's core competitiveness in the global Chinese market while awaiting travellers from the Chinese mainland to come back,” Mr Zheng added.
