All foodies’ favourite Copenhagen event

From 19 August it’s once again time for the annual Copenhagen Cooking and Food Festival. With more than 100 gastro events taking place in both restaurants and public spaces, there is something for all taste buds and curious minds who want to explore the world-famous Danish food culture. Check out these 10 selected events perfectly fitted for a non-Danish audience or see the full program.

Out-of-the-box thinking electronic music festival(s)

A concert on bikes, underground in the cisterns, a sleeping concert and electronic music played on the bells at Frederiksberg city hall. That is just some of the creative concert concepts at the 10th annual Strøm festival. If you are into electronic music, you should definitely go!

Bonus: After a night of partying, recover and chill out at Stella Polaris on 7 August from noon until 21:00. It’s free and besides the downtempo tunes there are loads of great food options.

Chart Art Fair

In case you didn’t know, you will find one of the city’s leading art spaces right next to the ever popular Nyhavn. To me, Kunsthal Charlottenborg has forever been a personal favourite, and is hosting the Chart Art Fair on 26-28 August. Here, 6 of Copenhagen’s leading galleries put on display contemporary arts inside the awe-inspiring premises appealing to a wide range of audiences.

Sky high expectations for noma’s new place

When René Redzepi and the crew behind noma opens a new restaurant it attracts attention. The new gastro haven is named 108 and continues to explore the Copenhagen’s kitchen and the art of lifting local ingredients to heavenly hights but at a moderate price. Personally, I can hardly wait to visit.

Protip: 108 is open from 7am offering hot coffee and freshly baked pastries.

Shopping street throws a garden party

Kronprinsensgade in the heart of central Copenhagen is a shopping hotspot. Again this summer, the many cool and diverse shops in the cozy street invite everyone to their garden party complete with green grass, music, umbrellas and of course plenty of great shopping opportunities. If you are not in town on 6 August we highly recommend this street for shopping any time of the year.
