China's Theme Park Sector Estimated to be World's Largest by 2020

The theme park industry of China is estimated to be the world's largest by the year 2020, offering tough competition to Japan and the United States as per the prediction by Euromonitor International, a consulting company.

Retail sales of the theme parks of China is set to reach an overwhelming 12 million yuan as the daily average number of tourists here have already exceeded 330 million according to the report.

This estimate is backed by other data.

The theme parks of China had lured as much as 200 million tourists in the year 2016 taking the second place in the world and the theme park sector is gaining momentum to a great extent as per a new report by Shenzen Overseas Chinese Town Holding Company that is a sponsor unit of the China Tourist Attractions Association.

Out of the 20 theme parks in Asia that had lured the maximum tourists, 13 are in China as per a report by the Themed Entertainment Association.

The freshly opened theme parks have demonstrated competitive power against Shanghai Disney Resort.

But then the market continues to encounter problems.

The absence of overall design and planning, less integration with the Chinese culture, financial constraints and weak global management are the important reasons hurting the development as per the insiders.
