“Belt and Road” Media Tour Launched in Xi’an

A large-scale media tour under the theme of the “Belt and Road” was launched in Yanta District, Xi’an on June 24.

Executives, editors in chief and journalists from over 30 mainstream media outlets from countries including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Italy, Malaysia, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Russia were expected to use the opportunity to try to get an overview of the local history, culture, tourism, commerce, industries, educational and research institutes and ecology.

Boasting most historical and cultural features in Xi’an, Yanta District has a rich heritage of the 5,000-year-long Chinese civilization. In recent years, it has received officials from the EU-China Culture & Economy Commission, the China-Europe Urban Art Exchange Center and the Pacific Asia Travel Association and hosted international academic events, tournaments and business activities such as the World Protein & Peptide Conference, the EU-China Tourism Year Closing Ceremony Exhibition and the Exhibition of Art and Calligraphy by Chinese and Russian Masters amid efforts to deepen international exchange and cooperation and expand participation in the Belt and Road Initiative while further opening up to the world.

As part of their tour in Yanta District, the journalists have made stops at Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts Makerspace, Xiaozhai Business District Planning Exhibition Hall, Xi’an Urban Eco Park Planning Exhibition Hall, the Hongzhuan South Road Community and the Shaanxi History Museum.
