Shanghai Da Fu Gui Restaurant, founded in 1881 by several partners from Anhui Province, located in “Huizhou Danfeng Restaurant” in the corner of Zhonghua Road and Zhaozhou Road (Fuxing Road nowadays). The restaurant has become a place of merchants in Shanghai, mainly selling the Hui cuisines and dessert. Later, with the development of the business of Shanghai, the restaurant gradually expands its operations and management of various characteristics of Anhui cuisine, whereby it is undeniable that it deserves the name of “century-old restaurant” and it is entitled the name “Time-honored Restaurant” by the Ministry of Commerce.

After the reform and opening up in 1980s, the restaurant has been renovated several times, becoming what it is now. In 2005, both Anhui cuisines and a series of new dishes are sold in it and the varieties of the braised vegetables for taken-away are increased. In 2006, many dishes like Baozi (steamed bun) with fresh meat and so on in Da Fu Gui Restaurant won the title “Shanghai top dishes or snacks”. In 2007, dishes like hoof stew, braised duck and so on won the name “Shanghai dishes” again honorably. In the past 130 years, the corporation successfully transforms into the business model now in 1997. This kind of business model majors in the common desserts, supplemented by the Shanghai dishes, which makes Da Fu Gui become an example in the program of breakfast in 2011.
