UnionPay POS service is available in Bulgaria now.

Notice:

1. Merchants with "UnionPay" logo can accept CUP cards, for stores without "UnionPay" logo, you may ask the store staff to see if UnionPay is acceptable.

2. When using dual currency cards, cardholders are recommended to ask the cashier to choose CUP network to ensure you could enjoy the various favorable policies of the CUP network.

3. Because there is a certain credit card spending limits for large luxury consumption, it is recommended to use CUP debit card which is only limited to the balance on your bank account.

All are accepted apart from American Express.

Tips

Usually, it is required to pay an extra 10% of the consumption amount as tip in Bulgarian restaurants.

Tax Reimbursement

Bulgaria is now a EU country and tax reimbursement is offered.
