The Orthodox Cathedral-Zenkov Cathedral inside the city of Almaty is the second high wooden structure building existing in the world. Zenkov Cathedral is located in the 28 Martyrs Park. The peculiar features of the Orthodox Church are that during the construction of the church, not one nail was used in building, but it is very strong. It was intact after a strong earthquake.

Zenkov Cathedral was founded in 1907 and is still decorated splendidly. There is a white wall outside the church. The doors, windows and the wall corners were all brushed respectively with reddish green paint, and there are many parts coated with a layer of gold, the orthodox cross in the sun on the top of the church shines brightly.
