Exhibition

The City Hall’s east wing on the ground floor hosts a visitor exhibition, which offers a journey from the city’s past to present. The exhibition is split into six themed zones across 16 rooms, and includes 30,000 artifacts telling the story of the city's transformation from a centre of industry with a population of 3,000, through the Troubles, to a vibrant post-industrial hub that is home to 330,000 people. Garden

Enjoy a stroll around the grounds of City Hall and discover some fascinating facts about the city and its history. The perfectly manicured lawns surrounding the building contain a wealth of memorials to the history, people and events associated with the city. Among the most poignant are the Cenotaph built in memory of all those who died in the First World War.

Titanic memorials

Stop and reflect on the tragedy at the City Hall's Titanic Memorial Garden, which opened in 15 April 2012, the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking. The garden was built around the existing Titanic monument stone sculpture which was designed by Sir Thomas Brock. Its memorial plinth bears the name of every individual who perished. ‘The Belfast List’, as it is now known, is a key feature of the memorial garden.
