Beidaihe beach is located in the west of Qinhuangdao. It has a mild weather. The beach west from Daihekou and ends at Yingjiao ting to its east, 20 miles length and 3 miles width, flat with soft sand. The heavily-wooden Lianfeng Mountain is just at the back of the beach. It is an ideal beach with high quality sand and perfect gradient.
Beidaihe is honored as the "Bird Watching Mecca" for it is a good site for seeing birds. There is a forest with 66 hundred hectare coverage, a 50-hectare wet land and a mud bank formed by Dai River, Heng River and Luan River. This whole area is named as “Beidaihe Wetland” and is protected by the international convention on wetlands protection. The suitable environment makes the area a paradise for birds and an important post for migration. In the spring and autumn, the birds flocking and flying over the air brings a shocking scene to visitors. At the end of spring and the beginning of summer, birds are everywhere leisurely seeking food on the beach.
