Liang Qichao’s Former Residence and Yinbing Room are located in No.19 and No.21 Minzu Road, Hebei District, all the buildings and decoration with elegant Italian style. The Yinbing Room was designed by an Italian architect, which includes 34 rooms with a total construction area of 949.5 square meters. Liang’s Former Residence was built in 1914 with two floors, the first floor is living room and study, the east half of the second floor is reception room, sitting room and reference room, and the west is the residence of his family. As a well-known figure in modern history in China, Liang Qichao was a statesman firstly, and was a scholar. As the leader of Hundred Days reform movement, though he failed and went into exile abroad, he learned many western theories and founded Yong Yan Magazine based on the political commentary when he went back, which was once one of the most influential publications. On the basis of the its Italian style, the Former Residence and Yinbing Room had been renovated by Tianjin Municipal Government in 2001 and specially built a Liang Qichao Memorial.
