Kunming Bus Stations

Kunming has very convenient road transportation, which links to the provinces, regions and countries such as Vietnam and Burma. Kunming used to have 14 passenger bus stations in the main city, such as: Kunming Nanyao Bus Station, East Passenger Station, North Passenger Center, and Provincial Tourist Bus Station. After integration the original bus stations gradually closed, and Kunming now has five major passenger stations: West Bus Station, Northwest Bus Station, South Bus Station, North Bus Station, and East Bus Station.

1. Kunming West Bus Station

Address: on the northeast of Chunyu Road and Yining Road Intersection, Majie Town, Xishan District, Kunming.

Operation directions: passenger buses in and out of Kunming main city to west Yunnan via Kunrui Highway. Bound for Dali State, Lijiang (except Huaping County), Diqing State, Baoshan, Dehong State, Nujiang State, Lincang, Jingdong County, Pu'er, Lancang County, Shangyun Town, etc. The routes of this station cover major tourist destinations in Yunnan including northwest Yunnan and west Yunnan, which are the first choice for tourists.

Bus routes: No.6, 6B, 7, C2, C8, C11, 80 (Kunming - West Passenger Station), 148, 151, 153, 182 (Nanping Pedestrian Street - West Passenger Station) bus will stop at Kunming West Bus Station.

2. Kunming Northwest Bus Station

Address: on the southwest of Puji Village, Wuhua District, Kunming, about 600 m to Kunsha Road (near Puji Bus Repair Factory)

Operation directions: passenger buses in and out of Kunming main city to northwest Yunnan via G108, and passenger buses into Kunming main city via G320. Bound for Wuding County, Yuanmou County, Yongren County, Huaping County, Fumin County, Luquan County, Anning, Yimen County, Chuxiong State, Panzhihua, etc.

Bus routes: No.1, 121, 151, 189, C1, C3, C10, C16 bus will stop at Kunming Northwest Bus Station.

3. Kunming South Bus Station

Address: on the east of New Kunluo Road, Yiliu Village, Guandu District, Kunming, opposite to Wula Village (near the commercial city of New Luoshi Bay).

Operation directions: passenger buses in and out of Kunming main city to south Yunnan via Kunyu Highway. Bound for Pu’er (except Jingdong County, Shangyun Town), Xishuangbanna State, Yuxi, Jianshui County, Shiping County, Yuanyang County, Lvchun County, Honghe County, etc.

Bus routes: No.154, 162, 165, 178, 179, 186, 190, C4, C5, C6, C7, C12, C13, C14, 12, 170S, 170 bus will stop at Kunming South Bus Station.

4. Kunming North Bus Station

Address: Yangchang, Longtou Street, Panlong District, Kunming, on the north of 7204 Highway, about 1.1 km to Kunqu Highway Golden Temple Overpass.

Operation directions: passenger buses in and out of Kunming main city to northeast Yunnan via Kunqu Highway and G213. Bound for Qujing, Zhaotong, Xundian County, Songming County, Luquan County, Dongchuan District, etc.

Bus routes: No.23, 182, Temp 3 bus will stop at Kunming North Bus Station.

5. Kunming East Bus Station

Address: between Hongqiao Overpass and Liangmiansi Overpass, East Third Ring Road, Panlong District, Kunming, about 1 km to Hongqiao Overpass.

Operation directions: passenger buses in and out of Kunming main city to east and southeast Yunnan via Kunshi Highway. Bound for Shilin County, Yiliang County, Honghe State (except Jianshui County, Shiping County, Yuanyang County, Luchun County, Honghe County), Wenshan State, Luliang County, Shizong County, Luoping county, etc.

Bus routes: No. Temp 1, Temp 2, 60 bus will stop at Kunming East Bus Station.

Public bus

Kunming has an extensive modern cheap and convenient bus network with busses on busy routes arriving every four to five minutes, servicing virtually all destinations in the city. It takes one or two yuan to take buses in the urban district of Kunming, and the fare for suburban lines is 6-12 yuan. All bus lines are self-service ticketing system. Generally the early buses start at 6:00-6:30, the last buses at 22:00-22:30.

A1 Tourist Bus Line runs through all famous tourist attractions in Kunming, including Kunming City Museum (Chajie Street Corner), Golden Horse Square, and Yunnan Nationalities Village, so it is the cheapest travel choice.
