The national railway service of Belgian is provided by Belgian Railways and the identification of the service is an oval contains a letter B in it. Belgian Railways provide four kinds of services: InterCity (IC), InterRegional (IR), local (L) and peak-hour (P). IC and IR usually leave every half an hour to other main stations of Belgian (Antwerp,Bruges and Ghent). All trains are divided into first and second class carriages and smoking and non-smoking sections. Every main station such as Gare du Nord, GareCentrale and Gare du Midi, has its own consulting room.

Thalys

Gare du Midi is a main station for international travel. Thalys provides high-speed train interconnected with Brussels and cities in France, Netherlands and Switzerland. Passengers can search information and book tickets online. These trains also rush across many domestic cities like Antwerp, Bruges and Ghent.

Eurostar

Some Eurostar tickets are also valid for internal train travel within Belgium for 24h from the time of the Eurostar ticket), so once in Belgium, travel is free for the day. Check on the bottom left hand corner of your ticket and confirm this before you get on the train.
