Good news for travelers to Asia: It turns out that you'll be able to fly nonstop from San Jose to Shanghai after all.
Air China on Thursday said it would launch its three-times-a-week flight between the two cities beginning September 1. The news follows the company's cancellation of a planned launch in July without explanation.
Air China's press release on Thursday gave no explanation for the delay and the company never returned calls and emails about the schedule changes. A spokeswoman didn't immediately respond to inquiries on Thursday.
The official announcement is another major milestone for Mineta San Jose International Airport, which for years offered no overseas nonstop flights. But it has welcomed flights to Tokyo, London, Frankfurt and Beijing in recent years.
