Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to open a new luxury hotel in Tokyo.
Located in the Japanese capital's popular Otemachi business district, the 190-room hotel will be part of a mixed-use development and is set to open in the spring of 2020.
The hotel will comprise the top six floors of a 39-story office tower, providing guests with stellar views of the city.
Other highlights of the hotel include plans for a rooftop terrace above the 39th floor, multiple indoor and outdoor restaurants and bars, a fitness center, spa, indoor pool and significant meeting and event space.
In a statement, Four Seasons president and CEO Allen Smith described the project as "a landmark hotel in one of the best locations in Tokyo."
"This will be a striking property that speaks to our confidence in this city as we meet the growing demand of Four Seasons guests and international luxury travellers visiting Tokyo," added Smith. "Japanese outbound travelers represent a significant number of Four Seasons guests around the world and we look forward to offering our Japanese guests a new opportunity to experience Four Seasons at home."
Smith said the hotel will appeal to business and leisure travelers in addition to the domestic market.
For business travelers, the hotel will feature an Executive Club lounge.
Upon completion, the hotel will join the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi in the capital and further expand Four Seasons' presence in Japan. Later this year the luxury hospitality company will welcome the Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto.
