On March 6, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) launched “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area credit card” in Hong Kong, Macau, Guangzhou and Shenzhen simultaneously. The card is tailored exclusively for the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. The launch of the credit card is another innovative measure taken by ICBC to step up its efforts in upgrading consumption experience for residents in the area and promoting cross-broader economic cooperation and exchange.
As introduced by an official of ICBC, the card, themed “connectivity, cooperation, mutual benefit, win-win results” and with the new craft of bronzing, is outlined with landmark buildings in the Great Bay Area connected by “Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge”, which carries unique local characteristics and labels of the new era. The newly launched “ICBC Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area credit card” bears UnionPay and MasterCard brand respectively and allows a combination of multiple currencies like RMB, HKD, MOP and USD. The card is designed for consumer groups in the Great Bay Area as well as in the Pan-Pearl River Delta with demands for cross-border businesses, investment, wealth management, tourism and shopping, and can offer many innovative value-added services. For instance, the card can serve as “Cross-Border Transport Card in the Great Bay Area”. Customers can make contactless payment with the card while commuting in cities of Guangdong or taking Guangzhou-Shenzhen high-speed train. They can also use it as “Shenzhen Express” to make payment for buses, subways and consumption, and enjoy ticket discount while taking a cross-border bus or boat commuting among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau.
