All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan's largest and 5-star airline for six consecutive years, is expanding options for online booking by adding PayPal as a new payment method. The move comes as ANA aims to even further enhance its service which will allow the company to capture new customers.
As of Dec. 12, 2018, customers will be able to select PayPal as their preferred payment method on ANA's website and app for international flights (and Japan domestic trips when booked at the same time as international flights.) This payment method will be available in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines, Cambodia, Australia, USA, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, and Switzerland.
While the use of PayPal will not impact ticket prices, ANA has opted to add the digital platform to open up new opportunities for tech-savvy consumers. PayPal now joins credit cards, ANA SKY Coins, convenience stores and bank transfers*1 as acceptable methods for online purchases.
"We are excited about taking another step to offer individually tailored services to passengers by adding PayPal to our list of payment options," said Mitsuo Tomita, Executive Vice President of ANA. "PayPal is a significant global platform with over 250 million users all over the world, and we want to make traveling as convenient and accessible for them as possible."
The decision by ANA to include PayPal as a payment option reflects its forward-looking drive for innovation and better service.
*1 Depending on the markets, payment by ANA SKY coins, convenience stores and bank transfers may not be available.
