【Introduction】:The Beijing municipal government and the Beijing municipal tourism authority showcased the rich tourist resources and products of Beijing in Mexico City.

The Beijing municipal government and the Beijing municipal commission of tourism development held a conference in Mexico City on March 3, showcasing the rich tourist resources and products of the capital city of China. It also provided a good chance for both sides to have an in-depth discussion and exchange opinions. More than 50 high-level officials of the two governments attended the conference.

Lin Ji, the charge d'affaires of the Chinese embassy in Mexico, said in his speech that China and Mexico are enjoying a hard-to-get opportunity to further develop bilateral relationships between both sides, with cooperation and communication moving towards an increasingly open, pluralistic, in-depth direction. As a bulk of cultural communications, tourism is a catalyst for boosting mutual understanding and developing friendship. Therefore, the city welcomes more visitors from Mexico to visit Beijing and other cities in China. As the old Chinese saying goes, "It is better to see once than to hear a hundred times."

Ma Lin, vice-secretary of the Beijing municipal government, introduced to people present the efforts that the local government has paid to promote tourism in Beijing and stressed that Mexico City and Beijing, being sister cities to each other, have been maintaining close ties in the tourism industry.

Orozco, head of the international cooperation department of the Mexico Tourism Board, remarked that tourism growth can bring people of the two countries closer together and will also drive forward bilateral political and economic relations. During his trip to China last year with Mexican President Pe?a (Enrique Pe?a Nieto), leaders of both countries reached two major achievements, the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation on Tourism and the holding of Mexico Year in China in 2015. By sharing her study experiences in Peking University, she highly recommended locals visit China and also noted that as a tourist destination with abundant natural resources and historical legacies, Mexico is always open to visitors from China.
