2. Scoot, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, flies four times a week
3. Singapore is an important transfer point for travellers to Berlin from Asia and Australia
connection from Asia will land in Tegel: Scoot, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, is a direct flight between Singapore and Berlin starting from 20 June 2018. This will make the German capital even easier to reach for travellers from Asia in the future.
Burkhard Kieker, Managing Director of visitBerlin is happy with the new connection: "Scoot recognised the opportunities Berlin offers. In Southeast Asia, interest in the German capital is already very high. And Singapore is not only an important transfer point for travellers from Asia but also for visitors from Australia. Scoot will bring both continents a good deal closer to Berlin."
The flight connection will give new impetus to Berlin tourism: in 2017, more than half a million travellers from Asia came to the German capital. They accounted for about 1.44 million overnight stays in Berlin hotels and lodgings. During the same period, around 86,000 guests travelled from Australia to Berlin and spent around 263,000 overnight stays in hotels in the capital. Travellers from Asia and Australia stayed in the city for about 3 days, significantly longer than the average guest. The average guest spends about 2.4 days in Berlin.
Scoot will connect Tegel directly with Singapore four days a week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. A Boeing 787-8 ("Dreamliner") will be used on the route.
