On the evening of August 23 the Hong Kong SAR Government officially announced that the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway Hong Kong section will officially begin operations on September 23. This means that you can take the high-speed railway from Hangzhou to Hong Kong in next month.
After the opening of the Hong Kong section of the high-speed railway, it will connect Beijing-Guangzhou line, Hangzhou Fuzhou-Shenzhen line, Shanghai-Kunming line and Guiyang-Guangzhou line. There are 44 mainland sites directly accessible, including 6 short-distance stations in Guangdong Province and 38 long-distance stations such as Beijing, Zhengzhou, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Fuzhou and Xiamen. At the beginning of the opening, 70 pairs and 82 pairs of short-distance trains were operated daily respectively on weekdays and weekends. During the peak period, 114 pairs of trains were operated daily, and 13 pairs direct long-distance trains were operated each day.
Take Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing as examples. In terms of time, it takes about seven and a half hours from Hangzhou to Hong Kong, about eight and a half hours from Shanghai to Hong Kong, and about nine hours from Beijing to Hong Kong. In terms of price, the ticket is priced in RMB, but it is marked in Hong Kong dollars, so there will be changes due to floating exchange rate. At present, it costs 1075 Hong Kong dollars (about RMB 945 yuan) from Hangzhou to Hong Kong, 1159 Hong Kong dollars (about RMB 1019 yuan) from Shanghai to Hong Kong, Beijing to Hong Kong about 1239 Hong Kong dollars (about RMB 1089 yuan).
According to the current flight fares from Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport to Hong Kong International Airport, the economy class is basically around 1,500 yuan. The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway has a spacious compartment, and the entire car has WiFi coverage for people to play games and watch movies. There are two-legged and three-legged power outlets under the seats. Each seat in the first-class compartment has an independent reading light and an audio socket, which can be said to be quite advanced. Although it takes a long time, it is still more economical to travel by high-speed railway.
