132,900 Tourists Flood Sanya over Mid-Autumn Festival

Sanya received a total of 132,900 visitors during the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday this year, including 115,100 overnight tourists, 17,800 one-day visitors and 3,500 inbound tourists. Tourism revenue reached RMB 511 million.

Hotel Room Occupancy Rate

The hotel room occupancy rate across the city averaged 57.54 percent, (accounting for the fact that the number of hotel rooms across the city has increased 1.72 percent year-on-year).

The average hotel room rates and average hotel occupancy rates in four major bays and the downtown area:

Yalong Bay (RMB 1,130; 66.36 percent)

Haitang Bay (RMB 975; 60.67 percent)

Sanya Bay (RMB 375; 56.55 percent)

Dadonghai (RMB 450; 57.15 percent)

Downtown area (RMB 290; 43.85 percent)

Tourist Arrivals at Eight Scenic Spots

Sanya’s eight major scenic spots received 135,500 visitors during the holiday period. Statistics for the eight spots are as follows: Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone received 29,500 visitors; Dongtian Park received 4,800 visitors; Wuzhizhou Island received 13,800 visitors; Tianya Haijiao Scenic Spot received 19,600 visitors; Yalong Bay Tropical Forest Park received 28,000 visitors; West Island received 5,000 visitors; Luhuitou Park received 6,000 visitors; and Sanya Romance Park received 288,000 visitors.

Air and Rail Passenger Throughput

During the holiday, the city handled 220,000 passengers. The Sanya Phoenix International Airport and Sanya Railway Station served as points of transit for 132,700 and 87,300 passengers, respectively.

Domestic and International Tourist Arrivals

The top five source provinces or cities for domestic visitors to Sanya were Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Sichuan, and Chongqing. As for tourist arrivals from overseas countries and regions, the top five sources were Russia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Kazakhstan.

Tourist Arrivals at Rural Scenic Spots

Sanya’s major rural attractions received 17,900 visitors during the holiday period. Statistics for the four rural spots are as follows: Zhongliao Village received 7,300 visitors; Yalong Bay Rose Valley received 4,800 visitors; Baolong Forest Park received 220 visitors and Orchid World received 700 visitors.
