On 23rd September, the time had come: The HSV-Museum in Volksparkstadion has a new unique feature. From now on, all English- and Chinese-speaking guests of the museum can read the information about HSV in their own language. All the panels and picture descriptions have been updated and complemented by the two most spoken languages in the world. The HSV is thus the only club in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga, that offers Chinese panels in their club's museum for Chinese visitors.

Before the game against SSV Jahn Regensburg, HSV’s CEO Bernd Hoffmann, together with Chinese Consul General Sun Congbin and State Councilor Christoph Holstein, opened the HSV Museum to invited guests after the transformation. "We are particularly pleased that we are the first club in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga in our museum offer a guide with Chinese characters," emphasizes Hoffmann at the ceremony. His special thanks went to the Confucius Institute for Translation Support.

The city of Hamburg and HSV have a long-standing and special connection to China. For over 30 years, there has been a town twinning between the Hanseatic city of Hamburg and Shanghai and also the HSV has been cooperated with the Chinese Super League SIPG FC since 2016. State Councilor Christoph Holstein is therefore very pleased about the internationalization of the HSV-Museum: "I am glad that HSV sets a mosaic stone in the partnership between Germany and China. Every year, about 100,000 Chinese visit the Hanseatic city. Expanding the museum may make it even more interesting for one visitor or another to visit HSV. "Consul General Sun Congbin also believes that adding more Chinese characters would attract more Chinese visitors to the HSV-Museum to learn about the history and culture of German football.
