【Introduction】:Sanya received a total of 218,600 tourists during the 2019 New Year Holiday, up 1.19 percent year-on-year. Tourist arrivals to the city included 182,900 overnight tourists and 35,700 one-day visitors. Tourism revenue reached RMB 778 million, a year-on-year increase of 5.58 percent.

Hotel Room Occupancy Rate
The hotel room occupancy rate across the city averaged 84.2 percent, (accounting for the fact that the number of hotel rooms across the city has increased 4.94 percent year-on-year).
Average hotel room rates and average hotel occupancy rates around Sanya’s four major bays and in the downtown area were as follows:
Yalong Bay (RMB 1,480; 88.29 percent)
Haitang Bay (RMB 1,530; 88.92 percent)
Sanya Bay (RMB 575; 86.10 percent)
Dadonghai (RMB 585; 87.84 percent)
Downtown area (RMB 385; 72.37 percent)
Tourist Arrivals at 8 Major Scenic Spots
Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone held bell blessing activities to welcome the 2019 New Year in Sanya.
Eight major scenic spots in Sanya together received a total of 259,900 visitors, a year-on-year increase of 5.44 percent. Among those eight major scenic spots, Nanshan Tourism Culture Zone received 53,400 visitors, down 9.18 percent year-on-year; Tianya Haijiao Scenic Spot received 42,500 visitors, down 1.48 percent year-on-year; Wuzhizhou Island received 27,400 visitors, up 2.19 percent year-on-year; Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park received 32,300 visitors, up 24.03 percent year-on-year; Sanya Romance Park received 72,300 visitors, up 16.95 percent year-on-year; West Island received 8,300 visitors, down 25.38 percent year-on-year; Luhuitou Park Scenic Spot received 13,200 visitors, up 31.3 percent year-on-year; and Dongtian Park received 10,500 visitors, up 20.61 percent year-on-year.
Air & Rail Passenger Throughput
From December 29th to 31st, 2018, the city handled 319,700 passengers, a year-on-year decrease of 0.83 percent.
During the same period, the Sanya Phoenix International Airport operated a total of 1,104 flights, and passenger throughput reached 196,342.
Among those flights, 553 landed at Sanya Airport, up 0.91 percent year-on-year. Those flights brought 99,553 passengers to the city, up 2.55 percent year-on-year. And 29 international flights arrived at the airport, up 3.57 percent year-on-year.
Meanwhile, a total of 551 flights departed from Sanya Airport, up 1.66 percent year-on-year, transporting 96,789 passengers, up 0.22 percent year-on-year. A total of 29 international flights departed from the airport, up 7.41 percent year-on-year.
The Sanya Railway Station serviced 123,300 passengers, a year-on-year decrease of 4.17 percent.
Domestic and Int’l Tourist Arrivals
From December 29th to 31st, 2018, the top five source provinces or cities for domestic visitors to Sanya were Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Sichuan. As for tourist arrivals from overseas countries and regions, the top five sources were Russia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, and Taiwan.
Tourist Arrivals at Rural Scenic Spots
Sanya’s major rural attractions received 18,200 visitors during the holiday period. Statistics for the three rural spots are as follows: Zhongliao Village received 2,100 visitors; Yalong Bay Rose Valley received 9,200 visitors; and Haitang Bay Rice Paddy Park received 4,400 visitors.
