The extended system of U and S-Bahns, buses and trams will take you easily, safely and cheaply to any sight or attraction. On this side we like to inform you about fares, schedules and contact information of Berlin’s public transport. Click here for more information about the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe BVG and the S-Bahn.

Fares

There are three different pay zones for public transit in Berlin. Zone A covers all areas within the S-Bahn circle line, while Zone B goes to Berlin’s city limits. Zone C covers Berlin’s nearby surrounding area (e.g. Schönefeld Airport, Potsdam, Oranienburg).

If necessary, you can obtain a combined ticket that covers zones AB, BC and ABC. The regular rate applies to adults, while the discount rate applies to children aged 6 to 14. Children that are under 6 years of age do not require a ticket.

You can buy your tickets from one of the many BVG and S-Bahn Berlin ticket selling areas, or directly at the automats in the stations. With their easy menu navigation system that is available in six languages (German, English, French, Spanish, Turkish and Polish), the automats are always accessible and very straightforward.
