BBC Proms 2014
From 18 July 2014 to 13 September 2014

Overview

The greatest classical music festival on earth returns to London's Royal Albert Hall. It's time for the Proms!

Each year, the BBC Proms are comprised of a range of concerts, including the famous Last Night performances. Last year's highlights included the first ever complete Wagner Ring Circle at the Proms in one summer; Marin Alsop as the first woman to conduct the Last Night of the Proms; and a Doctor Who Prom to celebrate the show's 50th anniversary.

The full programme will be available on the BBC's website. Check back here closer to the time for full 2014 Proms details.

What are the Proms? "Proms" is short for Promenade concert: informal and inexpensive concerts where Promenaders ("Prommers") pay just £5 for a ticket. Up to 900 Prommers can stand in the central Arena at London's Royal Albert Hall, and a further 500 can stand, sit or recline in the Gallery.
