Yunnan’s red soil leaves little to the imagination as to why it is nicknamed the “Red Plateau.” The best part of the region is in Dongchuan of Kunming; its center is located in Haushitou Village. The red land is over 100 square kilometers and is filled with gorgeous rolling hills. The tranquil and plain rural scenery of the Dongchuan red land has inspired artistic innovation. Although the works the red land has inspired are stylistically different, they all bring viewers the simple purity of the area.
