Pu’er tea is referred to as a kind of tea that is mainly made from Yunnan’s big-leaf teas by fermenting and seasoning. Different from other popular teas, Pu’er tea tastes specially fragrant because it is caffeine free. Its color resembles that of soy sauce.

Normally, Pu’er tea is made into shapes of bricks, cakes and others for the convenience of further fermentation. It’s agreed that Pu’er tea has no shelf life and the older, the better, thus is nicknamed as “the antique that could be drunk”. By the way, Pu’er tea is quite good for health as it is able to warm up one’s digestion system, lower cholesterol, and even help ladies lose weight. The famous Ancient Tea and Horse Road started its journey from Pu’er Prefecture of Yunnan hundreds of years ago, by which this specialty was made available for Tibetans who drink the Yak-butter everyday for needed calories.
