Bronze manufacturing has a long history in Kunming. Kunming had a bronze culture with distinct ethnic features as early as the Warring States period and the Western Han Dynasty. This wonderful local craft and special arts style was created in Kunming district.

At the Panama World Fair held in 1915, the bornite artifacts amazed the world and the outstanding “nine-dragon tripod” sold at very high prices. The manufacturing of bornite is complex and uses special techniques to prevent the copper and other metals from merging. Bornite is an elegant artifact known for its beautiful patterns and alternated colors of gold and yellow.

The bornite artifacts such as the “peacock king”,“five-shape stove” and “big rhino” are considered rare and precious. The state permanently collects these types.
