Introducation

Located at the foot of Wulao Peak in the south of Xiamen Island, it is a famous temple in South Fujian and even China. The temple sits in front of picturesque hills and in close proximity to Xiamen University.

Dating back to the Tang Dynasty, the temple was destroyed numerous times throughout history before being rebuilt in the 23rd year of the Kangxi Period (1684) during the Qing Dynasty. It is so named because like Puji Temple on Putuo Mountain, Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province, it also pays tribute to Kwan-yin, and is located to the south of Putuo Mountain.

How to get there

It is reachable by alighting at Xiada Station on Bus Routes: 1, 15, 18, 21, 29, 45, 47 and 71.
