Old Chengdu Folk Park is located below the People's South Overpass and covers an area of 45 acres. The green area is 20,000 square meters. Park investment totaled 13,000 yuan ($2,113).

Construction began in September 2001, and the park opened in January 2002. Old Chengdu Folk Park is mainly divided into five large areas: the Chengdu old bridge and old street cultural art area; the Chengdu folk culture sculpture leisure area; a fitness area; the green garden and old neighbor leisure area; and a parking area.

The park is appealing to those who want to relax and foreign tourists who want to learn more about the folk traditions and customs of old Chengdu while promoting the city’s overall urban image.
