The civilization has entered the time of advocating and pursuing the best. Wulingyuan Scenic Area, which is listed as a World Heritage Site, is no doubt a trump card among China’s natural scenery. The Huanglong Cave, which is listed among the 35 key scenic spots by the National Tourism Administration, is well-deserved to serve as the core of the scenic area. The pearl which had been buried deep under the ground for millions of years has been well-known at home and abroad since Zhangjiajie Scenic Spot was opened to the public in the early 1980s.

The area in which people have explored the cave is 100,000 square meters, with a length of 7.5 kilometers and a vertical height of 140 meters. It consists of two levels of dry caves and water caves respectively. In the cave, there is one reservoir, two rivers, three ponds, four falls, 13 halls and 98 galleries. Six scenic areas are located in the cave, including the Maze, Ringing Water River, Fairy Water, Sky Column Street and Dragon Palace. The whole cave is like an ancient tree spreading in all directions with twisted roots and gnarled branches. The various cave wonders are really a feast for the eyes. The large number of stalactites of various grotesque shapes makes the cave a rare pearl in domestic and foreign karst caves. It is regarded as the “all-around champion of world caves” by Chinese and foreign experts.

Located to the east of Suoxi Valley, Huanglong Cave is called "Enchanted Palace". The entrance of the cave is filled with hazy mist. In the cave, the meandering corridors, suspended stalactites and serried stalagmites and pillars present a visual feast for visitors. There are also stone curtains, screens, flowers and lyres. The complexity of the cave would surely overwhelm all visitors coming here. Huanglong Cave can be divided into four levels, which range from the lowest underground river to the highest crest, with a vertical height difference of more than 100 meters. There is a reservoir in the cave (Huanglong Tunnel), two underground rivers (Ringing Water River and Crystal River), three underground falls (Huanglong Fall, Tianshui Fall, Tiandi Fall), four ponds, 13 halls (palaces) (Dragon Dancing Palace, Crystal Palace, Maze Palace, etc.), and 96 corridors, with a length up to 15 kilometers. The largest hall covers an area of 12,000 square meters, which can accommodate 10,000 people. The cave is really an amazing fairyland.
