Satya Budhi temple is a place of worship building inaugurated on June 15, 1855, was very old. This temple Thian Kiong Hiap whose original meaning is the Palace of the gods, and a place peribatan the Chinese Buddhist, and Confucian Thao, although at that time Dutch colonial government only recognizes Buddhism as a religion of the Chinese.

This pagoda was built independently of the Chinese who live in the city at that time with the help of other Chinese people who are outside the city of Bandung. History has recorded that in a reign of Indonesia banned the use of Chinese names in Indonesia, so that Chinese people should have the name of Indonesia as well as the name of the place peribadatannya, yes it is anti-China sentiment that occurred at about 1965 and continued for decades. Similarly, the reason why the temple was renamed Vihara Satya Budhi. Name of the monastery is also used as a substitute for the name of the pagoda because of government policy at that prohibits other religions for the Chinese than Buddhism. The result dalah current Vihara Budhi Satya used simultaneously by three different religions, namely Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism.
