Broadstone Studios supports professional development for contemporary visual artists through the provision of appropriate and affordable studio workspace within a safe, secure, accessible and creative environment.

The studios are an independent, dedicated visual arts studio workspace that were founded in 1997 by visual artist Jacinta Lynch. The core philosophy of the studio is to support professional development for contemporary visual artists through the provision of appropriate and affordable studio workspace within a safe, secure, accessible and creative environment. Support facilities include a Black & White darkroom, digital video editing facilities and a large project and exhibition space. The exhibition space enables the studios to develop public access for a predominantly private artists workspace through a series of practice led iniatives, collaborations and partnerships.

Broadstone Studios works in partnership with many artists’ studio organisations, both nationally and internationally to research new models for studio practice, to lobby and advocate on behalf of visual arts workspaces and to create networks for communication, support and information. In particular, Broadstone works with a team of established studios, both instutional and independent, with a lead management role for ASNI – Artists’ Studio Network Irelandwww.asni.info
