Anyone looking for typical North German cuisine in Hamburg would be told by most people that it no longer really exists. You can find it at most some refreshment stands or high-priced restaurants.

Therefore Anno 1905 is a real exception to the rule. An emphasis is placed on traditional fare that is affordable and can be quite impressive here. Classics are the crab soup and the matjes herrings in a mild yoghurt cream sauce with apples and onions, accompanied by crisp fried potatoes.
