Located in the town of Santa Fe, just a few miles west of Galveston Island in Galveston County, Haak Vineyards & Winery is a family-owned business and the only one of its kind in the county.

What started in 1969 with an anniversary gift of grapevines from Gladys Haak to her husband Raymond has grown to a full-fledged enterprise. Today thousands of people turn out annually for a tour of this unique coastal vineyard and the winemaking process. Finding and cultivating grape varietals that can thrive in the sub-tropical climate has been a years' long learning process at the vineyard. In 2000, Haak produced its first commercial wines and has since expanded to more than a dozen different varieties, from dessert wines such as Madeira to refined whites like the dry Blanc du Bois. Several Haak vintages have won major awards at international wine events.

The vineyard consists of more than three acres of vines dominated by a 25,000-square-foot winery. Haak hosts regular events, such as small concerts, and is also a destination for weddings. Tours occur daily, usually on the hour, but calling ahead is recommended.
