Every year in August, Copenhagen Pride offers activities where LGBT issues are at the centre of attention. It is both festive, colourful and political with awards, parties, concerts, films and other kinds of entertainment.

During Copenhagen Pride Week there are plenty of activities around Copenhagen, with City Hall Square - renamed Pride Square - as the focal point of action.

Access to the square and all events there are free to attend. However you can show your support for the Pride by buying the official Pride bracelet - on sale at the square.

Pride Square opens August 27, 2014, and for the following four days and nights you can experience drag shows, debates, concerts and parties. This year, PanGames 2014 takes places at the same time.

Copenhagen Pride Parade August 30, 2014

Copenhagen Pride always ends with a large, festive and colourful parade. In 2013, 20,000 gays, lesbians, transsexuals and bisexuals strutted their stuff through the city, jamming the traffic with floats and rainbow flags.

Also in 2014, the parade starts at Frederiksberg Town Hall at 13:00 and ends at City Hall Square in the heart of Copenhagen at approx. 16:00. When the weather is good, the parade usually gathers thousands of spectators lining the parade route.

Afterwards there will be speeches, and the music programme gets the party started. It continues until 22:30, where after the official after party in Pumpehuset venue takes over.
