Public transport of Minsk is a system of passenger public transport (bus, trolleybus, tram, subway, taxi (route taxi and usual), city electric train).

Surface transport functions from 6.00 AM till 1.00 AM.

On 1st. of February, 2014 in city passenger transport of Minsk the Automated system of payment and control of journey was installed.

The majority of population of the country should pay passenger fare while travelling by public transport. Tickets (for disposable use, for a decade or for a month) may be bought in booths selling CLUMPS "Minsktrans" booking production or from a driver.

Minsk Metro

The Minsk Metro is a rapid-transit system that serves Minsk. Opened in 1984, nowadays it consists of 2 lines and 29 stations, totaling 37.25 kilometres (23.15 mi). From them 15 stations are located on the 1st (Maskoŭskaja) line and 14 are on the 2nd (Aŭtazavodskaja) line of the subway.

In 2013, the system carried 328.3 million passengers, which averages to a daily ridership of approximately 899,450.

The movement interval is about 2 minutes on the Maskoŭskaja line and 2:15 minutes on the Aŭtazavodskaja line. From terminal stations the first train departs at 5:35 AM, the last — at 1:02 AM.

City electric train

Minsk city electric train is a high-speed public transport in Minsk and advanced areas of Minsk region. A first line from station Minsk-passenger to station Belarus was launched on July 1, 2011 in test mode. Since September 10, 2011 the regular traffic on the first route was launched. Now on Minsk-passenger — Station Belarus line trains run 18 times a day in back-to-back direction.

The second route — "Minsk-passenger — the station Rudensk" was also open. Trains run 4 times a day in back-to-back direction without making many at the same time.
