Michelin-Starred Restaurants: You need to eat here now

Deciding on where to eat day-to-day is the hardest decision for locals to make. We can only imagine how much harder it is for you, the visitor, who comes here a few days a year. Today, that decision became a little easier.

This week, Michelin released their list for 2014. With each year, we couldn't be more proud of the additions to the list, making the Bay Area a true foodie destinations Here are the places you need to eat at now. There will be lines, but they are worth the wait:

San Francisco

Atelier Crenn - Iron Chef winner, Dominique Crenn has created a personal atelier (workshop) where exquisite, local ingredients merge with European technique to create "poetic culinaria."

Boulevard - Headed by Chef and Co-Owner, Nancy Oakes, Boulevard has put San Francisco on the map for French Cuisine. Mixed with regional American flavors, Boulevard delivers a meal you can't find anywhere else.

Campton Place - The defining characteristics of contemporary Bay Area cuisine are masterfully blended with broader American and European traditions to create a menu that draws worldwide acclaim.

La Folie - Elegant French fine dining--without any pretense. Inviting, warm and intimate atmosphere.

Luce - At Luce, discover innovative modern American cuisine that perfectly blends local flavors, global inspiration and is enhanced by a wine list of distinction.

Spruce - Spruce is a distinctive restaurant that reflects the charm of its surroundings and provides residents with a welcoming place in which to dine, socialize and relax. Chef Mark Sullivan’s California-inspired American cuisine showcases the freshest and finest ingredients, highlighting seasonal produce and naturally raised meats, poultry and fish.

Beyond San Francisco

Auberge du Soleil - Auberge du Soleil pays tribute to its legacy with an award-winning menu and wine list. Executive Chef Robert Curry’s inspired cuisine reflects the natural diversity and rich ingredients of California’s Napa Valley and draws from regional produce, accented with Mediterranean flavors.
