The National Museum of Finland illustrates Finnish history from prehistoric times to the present day. Major archaeological finds, the historical, numismatic and ethnological collections have been put together for over 170years. Workshop Vintti on the third floor is an interactive exhibition especially designed for children, where visitors can study the history of Finland and its culture using their hands and heads. VINTTI is suited to everyone over the age of seven. Younger children can visit in the company of adults. There is no upper age limit.

Accessibility:

 Accessible entrance on Mannerheimintie street. Lift to all exhibitions, electrical doors. An induction loop in the auditorium. Magnifying glasses, wheelchairs and rolling walking aids to lent. Guide and assistance dogs are welcome. Toilet for disabled. A part of the exhibitions are dimly lighted due to technical reasons.

Restaurants:

The cafe-restaurant seats 50 and in the summer months there is an outdoor café for 50 persons. Food and refreshments for the auditorium are served in the adjacent lobby.

Other services:

In addition to its museum and exhibition activities, the National Museum of Finland has high-standard facilities for arranging various kinds of functions, such as conferences, seminars and media launches in its spacious and wellequipped auditorium. Situated on the ground floor of the museum, the auditorium seats 212. There is separate access from street level to the conference facilities. Functions and conferences can be combined with a visit to the museum’s permanent or temporary exhibitions. Guided tours by request.
