The Design Museum illustrates the development of industrial art, artistic handicraft and industrial design from the second half of the 19th century to the present day. Classics of the Finnish design. Interesting special exhibitions. The permanent exhibition of the museum is supported by temporary Finnish and international thematic exhibitions on historical and contemporary design. The building from 1894 offers beautiful surroundings for all events which get additional value from the exhibitions. The exhibition spaces can be hired for events outside the Design Museums opening hours, the lecturing hall (70m2, 60 persons) and conference room (16 persons) can also be hired during opening hours.

Accessibility: Full accessibility, toilet for wheelchair users, lift, lightning intensity 50-150 lux. Dark at some places. Persons with wheelchair should notify in advance. Easier entry from the backdoor.

Restaurants: Café. High-class catering services available in the exhibition areas.

Other services: Receptions (max. 700 persons) can be arranged in the exhibition area outside the opening hours.

Exhibition areas: Exhibition areas on three floors: Basement 250 m2, height 200-285 cm, max 100 persons, I floor 335m2, height 360-410 cm, max 300 persons, II floor 800 m2, height 420-610 cm, max 500 persons. The exhibition architecture may have an effect on the amount of persons. Restaurant services in the exhibition spaces.
