In the ongoing two-day Beijing Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit, the World Tourism Cities Federation launched the We-media platform on Thursday to attract more tourists for its members.
With the help of modern technology (video and animation), the We-media platform will give visitors sufficient information, including scenic sites, cultural heritage, local customs and practices, travel guidance and other necessary services, which will help them get better knowledge of the tourism destination.
On the other hand, the new media platform will allow member units of World Tourism Cities to promote themselves on this official platform. There will be applications on mobile terminals and an official account on Weibo, a Twitter-like social media in China and WeChat, the domestic popular messaging network for Chinese visitors.
