The Second Cruise Liner Costa Luminosa Sets Sail

Costa Luminosa was the second cruise liner of Costa Crociere to resume voyages in 2021. It showed that the enterprise has already resumed voyages to the Eastern Mediterranean.

On May 16, Costa Luminosa, the cruise ship of Costa Crociere, set sail from Trieste, Italy. As the second liner of the company to resume voyages this year, Costa Luminosa will travel to the Adriatic Sea and Greece, resuming voyages to the Eastern Mediterranean officially.

This summer, Costa Luminosa will start 27 voyages in total. All of them will have been finished by mid November. Just within a week, she has already reached multiple destinations including Bari, Corfu, Athens, Mykonos and Katakolon.

The President of Costa Mario Zanetti stated: “Costa Luminosa has already set sail, and we have finally brought our liners back to the Adriatic Sea and Greece. They are among the most famous tourism destinations in Europe and mean s lot for the economic growth of many nations within the Eastern Mediterranean including Italy. Before the pandemic, the value Costa Crociere created each year reached 13 billion euros throughout Europe, and we offered more than 63,000 job opportunities. We are glad to set sail from Trieste, a place that welcomes us with great enthusiasm. It will still be the home port of Costa Luminosa next year. We are full of confidence in the future and continue to pursue sustainable development and provide high-quality cruise experiences in Trieste”.

Costa Crociere strictly complies with the safety regulations jointly made by authoritative experts and medical groups to ensure the safety and health of tourists and staff members. These safety measures cover all aspects of activities both on board and ashore. Each voyage limits the number of passengers, and every tourist will have to go through the COVID-19 Antigen Swab Test before boarding and during the voyage. Their temperature will be checked every time they return to the liner or enter the dining hall. Notably, travelers could only move within limited areas of protection on the shore. Besides, the crew must go through the COVID-19 Antigen Swab Test before boarding and receive regular tests on the ship. Social distancing is a must on board and in port, and brand new forms of services will minimize interpersonal contact together with strengthened sterilization and improved medical services. 

The resuming of summertime voyages will bring fresh cruise experiences. The menus will showcase local flavors by adapting to the characteristics of destinations. The voyage destinations have offered tailored traveling routes so that tourists will have more fun on the shore and discover rarely-noticed coastal scenery. Previously, Costa Smeralda already set sail from Savona, Italy on May 1, and it has toured various cities of Italy. In the days to come, Costa Deliziosa and Costa Firenze will also begin their journeys and resume summertime voyages.
