WTCF Executive Deputy Secretary-General Li Baochun Attends the 2021 Summit on Urban Culture and Tourism Development

On May 25, Jinan City of Shandong Province witnessed the 2021 Summit on Urban Culture and Tourism Development themed on Fusion Culture and Innovation Format. It was hosted by CRI Online and Jinan Culture and Tourism Bureau, and co-organized by CRI Online Shandong and Sunac China Holdings Limited. At the summit, Li Baochun, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF), delivered a keynote speech centered on Integration of Culture with Tourism and Beijing's Experience.

Li Baochun stated that Jinan has, in recent years, boosted industrial support in various facets, vigorously implemented "Culture +" and "Tourism +" policies, and promoted forms of cultural tourism in the areas of heritage, nationalism, education, industrialization and performing arts. The city has set an excellent example for integrating urban culture and innovating cultural tourism forms.

"We should promote the integration of culture with tourism wherever possible and appropriate. We should boost tourism with culture and showcase culture in tourism". Li Baochun noted that the integrated development of culture and tourism is the inner requirement and corollary of the sector's growth. In order to support this integration in China, cities shall keep up with the global trends in the industry, and find the most practical solutions in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.
