California cruising resumes with the Carnival Panorama set to become the first cruise ship to sail from the Golden State since March 2020.

The ship departs Long Beach on August 21. The seven-day sailing will visit Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlan (it will call in Cabo twice on some itineraries).

Carnival president Christine Duffy will be on hand to see the ship off, along with local officials.

The Panorama debuted in late 2019 and had not even sailed a full season when the industry shut down due to the pandemic. It is the newest ship to operate on the West Coast this year and counts the line's first Sky Zone trampoline park at sea among its features.

Carnival will be joined in Southern California on October 24 by Norwegian Cruise Line, which will launch the Norwegian Bliss from Los Angeles, and in November by Royal Caribbean International, which will return to Los Angeles after a decade-long hiatus when the Navigator of the Seas begins three-, four- and five-day itineraries to  Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas and California's Catalina Island.
