South Korea will lift entry restrictions on people from EU and Schengen Area countries from next week.

A visa waiver and visa free entry program on EU and Schengen Area countries will resume from September 1.

With the rise in popularity of k-pop, thanks to global Korean sensations BTS, a visit to Seoul, South Korea's capital, has made many people's bucket lists over the past year.

Seoul is a huge metropolis where modern skyscrapers, high-tech subways and pop culture meet Buddhist temples, palaces and street markets.

Notable attractions include futuristic Dongdaemun Design Plaza, a convention hall with curving architecture and a rooftop park; Gyeongbokgung Palace, which once had more than 7,000 rooms; and Jogyesa Temple, site of ancient locust and pine trees.

Seoul is a 24/7 city. Whatever you want, at any time of day or night, you can get in Seoul. Soju (a vodka-like drink) and tteokbokki street in a tent bar will have you buzzing for the Dongdaemun or Namdaemun night markets, partying in Hongdae or Itaewon, or singing in a self-service karaoke noraebang.

Follow this with steaming, soaking and snoozing in a jjimjilbang (sauna and spa), a big bowl of jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) or a feast at one of the many korean barbecue houses.

A visit to Seoul is a cultural and gastronomic delight!
