Deepening Cooperation and Innovation for Development - World Conference on Tourism Cooperation and Development 2022 Is Coming Soon

On 1 September, the World Conference on Tourism Cooperation and Development 2022 will be held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. The conference will be hosted by the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF), and organized by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism. With the theme of "Deepening Cooperation and Innovation for Development", it will include four sections, namely the Opening Ceremony, Special Forum, Keynote Speeches and Panel Discussion.

Amidst repeated COVID-19 resurgences and increasing global instability, the world tourism cities must deepen cooperation and jointly fight against the pandemic to promote development. WTCF will, through the platform of this conference, bring together industry representatives, deeply analyze the new development trends of cities and tourism enterprises, and explore the cooperation models among countries, cities, enterprises and tourism organizations, so as to provide concept and model support for the comprehensive recovery of world tourism. The Special Forum has invited the ambassadors of Barbados, Ethiopia, Mauritius, Seychelles, and South Africa to China, in order to pool multinational wisdom, build a cooperation platform for improving the development quality of international tourism and optimizing the business environment for world tourism, share successful experience of realizing tourism recovery and development amidst the pandemic, seek new opportunities and solve problems in cooperation.

Cooperation and innovation have become the only path to recovery and development for tourismthe  cities and enterprises amidst the pandemic. WTCF will invite a leader of Beijing Municipality and a world-renowned enterprise representative to give keynote speeches, provide Chinese wisdom for solving the problems facing tourism development, provide digital solutions to sustainable tourism development, and vigorously offer suggestions on world tourism development. During the panel sessions, political and business figures and experts from China, Chile, Jamaica and Tunisia will, focusing on the topic of "Jointly Promoting the Innovative Development of World Tourism", discuss the cooperation mechanisms between tourism enterprises and tourism-related institutions, and explore innovative development models.

During the conference, WTCF will also release the latest academic research report — World Tourism Cities Development Report (2021). Based on the three perspectives, namely comprehensive evaluation of 2021 world tourism cities development, comprehensive rankings of 2021 world tourism cities development, and rankings of 2021 world tourism cities development by category, the report comprehensively summarizes the development features of major world tourism cities and new trends of world tourism development during the pandemic in 2021. Moreover, in the present context, it offers solutions to and suggestions on enhancing all-round development of world tourism cities and contributes to sustainable world tourism development.

WTCF is the world's first city-centered international tourism organization initiated by Beijing. Through this conference, WTCF hopes to share the views of the industry, provide intellectual support for its 237 members from 83 countries and regions in the post-pandemic recovery, promote exchanges and cooperation among the world tourism cities, and boost the prosperity and development of global tourism.
