April 26: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On April 25, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 11 new cases of confirmed infections (5 imported cases and 6 indigenous cases, 5 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Guangdong province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 48 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 779 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 2.

As of 24:00 on April 25, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 1,634 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 940 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 694 confirmed cases (including 22 in serious condition) and 10 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on April 25, the National Health Commission had received reports of 82,827 confirmed cases and 4,632 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 77,394 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 801 confirmed cases (including 51 in serious condition) and 12 suspected cases. So far, 729,885 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 8,308 are now under medical observation.

On April 25, Hubei province reported no new cases of confirmed infections, no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 11 patients (all in Wuhan) were released from hospital after being cured.

As of 24:00 on April 25, Hubei had reported 68,128 cases of confirmed infections (including 50,333 in Wuhan) and 4,512 deaths (including 3,869 in Wuhan). In all, 63,604 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital, including 46,452 in Wuhan. There still remained 12 confirmed cases (all in Wuhan), with no cases in serious condition. There were no suspected cases.

On April 25, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 30 new asymptomatic cases (including 7 imported cases). 9 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 6 imported cases) and 4 became confirmed cases (all are indigenous cases). As of 24:00 on April 25, 1,000 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 151 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on April 25, 1,511 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,037 in Hong Kong (4 had been dead and 753 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 45 in Macao (28 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 429 in Taiwan (6 had been dead and 275 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
