April 30: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On April 29, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 4 new cases of confirmed infections (all are imported cases), 3 new cases of suspected infections (all are imported cases in Shanghai municipality), and no deaths. 32 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 708 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 9.

As of 24:00 on April 29, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 1,664 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,139 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 525 confirmed cases (including 13 in serious condition) and 7 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on April 29, the National Health Commission had received reports of 82,862 confirmed cases and 4,633 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 77,610 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 619 confirmed cases (including 41 in serious condition) and 10 suspected cases. So far, 732,369 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 8,032 are now under medical observation.

On April 29, Hubei province reported no new cases of confirmed infections, no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 

As of 24:00 on April 29, Hubei had reported 68,128 cases of confirmed infections (including 50,333 in Wuhan) and 4,512 deaths (including 3,869 in Wuhan). In all, 63,616 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital, including 46,464 in Wuhan. There were no confirmed cases and no suspected cases.

On April 29, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 33 new asymptomatic cases (including 2 imported cases). 28 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 6 imported cases) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on April 29, 998 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 127 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on April 29, 1,511 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,037 in Hong Kong (4 had been dead and 830 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 45 in Macao (34 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 429 in Taiwan (6 had been dead and 311 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
