June 7: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 6, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 6 new cases of confirmed infections (1 indigenous case in Hainan province and 5 imported cases, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Guangdong province), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both are imported cases in Shanghai municipality), and no deaths. 3 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 633 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on June 6, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 1,776 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,710 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 66 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on June 6, the National Health Commission had received reports of 83,036 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 78,332 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 70 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. So far, 746,744 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 3,389 are now under medical observation.

On June 6, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 5 new asymptomatic cases (including 4 imported cases). 25 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 2 imported cases) and 1 case became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on June 6, 236 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 43 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on June 6, 1,593 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,105 in Hong Kong (4 had been dead and 1,048 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 45 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 443 in Taiwan (7 had been dead and 429 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
