17 December 2020, China – Tourism Fiji's China Bulanaires campaign was recognised as the 'Best Integrated Marketing Campaign of the Year' on 11 December by the award committee consisting of tourism marketing and communication gurus at the 2020 China Tourism Awards Ceremony.
It has stood out from nearly a thousand campaign cases and applications throughout the process of self-recommendation, grading & voting, and industry review, etc. The whole evaluation took about 3 months to reach the final 2020 China Tourism Awards Ceremony.
In face of Covid-19, people need to share love, happiness, and positive energy more than ever. This year, Tourism Fiji brought its inaugural Happiness Month to China with the industry creating and sharing 'happy moments' throughout daily life in March, along with the promotion of some of the showcased Bulanaires. Most Chinese were in lockdown because of the pandemic.
Coinciding with the International Day of Happiness on March 20, Tourism Fiji China celebrated the thing that sets them apart from other island destinations, which is its people. The launch of the China Bulanaires campaign celebrated those who are rich in happiness and look to share that happiness and happy moments with others. The campaign also aligned with its brand ethos of 'where happiness finds you'.
The annual International Day of Happiness is a global movement supported by the United Nations to increase human happiness and wellbeing. Although happiness means something different to everyone, people all feel happier when it is shared.
Tourism Fiji's CEO Mr. Matthew Stoeckel commented, "It absolutely is a big win for our Tourism Fiji China team. We believe our Bulanaires program provides a unique, ownable position for Fiji that represents the true character of the destination. Importantly it profiles the incredibly warm hospitality of our tourism industry which makes us such an appealing destination to visit. "
Tourism Fiji has developed its Four-Stage Market Re-entry Plan to coordinate an aligned return to the market across all its international destinations in the wake of Covid-19. Currently, it's in stage Two, marketing its message to the world that 'Our Bula Spirit Awaits You'.
Tourism Fiji Regional Manager in Greater China, Mr. Vincent Zheng said, "Although our borders are not open yet, our China team never gives up and continues to share our Bula Spirit with Chinese travellers. Now all hard works in 2020 have been paid off through being highly recognised with prestigious awards by industry and consumers. Our appreciation and gratitude go to industry and trade partners, media, and others who have been supporting us along the way in 2020. We look forward to continuing our partnerships to welcome Chinese travellers back to Fiji once the time is right."
