TOKYO, October 03, 2017 - ANA HOLDINGS (hereafter ANA HD) is pleased to announce that it has been selected as a member of 2017 “Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World)”. So far, ANA HD has been selected for the “Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index (DJSI Asia Pacific)” eight times, including in the years 2016 and 2017. However, this year marks the first time for ANA HD to be selected as the top of its industry “Airline Industry Leader”, scoring highest among all airlines.
ANA HD has been recognized for its pursuit of eco-efficiency in business; its approach to risk, supply chain and brand management; customer care; its recruitment and retention practices and its human rights activities.
The DJSI is a major Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) index developed cooperatively by US-based S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM, a Swiss investment specialist focusing on SRI, which tracks the stock performance of the world's leading companies in terms of economic, environmental and social criteria.
In 2017, 320 companies (32 of which are Japanese) from 2,500 major corporations around the world were selected for the DJSI World.
ANA HD is focused on delivering a world-leading service to its customers. Safety is at the foundation of the business, and its ambition is to continue to grow sustainably and support the local communities in which it operates.
ANA HD is developing its CSR activities while respecting the “Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact” and other international standards. In addition to the DJSI World and Asia Pacific, ANA HD is included in some major indices for SRI, which are the FTSE4Good Index and FTSE Blossom Japan Index, the Morningstar-selected MS-SRI (Morningstar Socially Responsible Investment Index) and MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index.
